Originally, the plan was to pitch Gullah Binyah and secure funding for a 10-episode first season. But an exciting new development—details to be announced later this month—has opened up a new path forward: the opportunity to produce a Los Angeles–based pilot episode over the next 18 months.
Aisha Been Watts, our proof of concept, allowed us to explore the unique blend of tech and storytelling that brings Gullah Binyah to life. This upcoming pilot will build on that foundation, expanding into a new L.A. neighborhood while applying everything we learned—from both the breakthroughs and the bumps—on our first outing.
